Ocean Yacht Documentation is an active member of the American Vessel Documentation Association (AVDA). AVDA is a member organization of U.S. Coast Guard documentation service companies across the U.S. that abide by a Code of Ethics that acts to preserve the integrity of documentation service professionals across the marine industry. We enjoyed the camaraderie of reconnecting with fellow members at the annual meeting yesterday in Baltimore, MD. We met with the Director of the U.S. Coast Guard - National Vessel Documentation Center and received updates on several topics including goals to improve processing times for the issuance of certificates of documentation, recording of preferred ships mortgages and much more. The following AVDA description is directly from the assocation website.
"AVDA was incorporated on February 10, 1995 as a California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation. The establishment of AVDA was in response to the centralization of the U.S. Coast Guard documentation offices to West Virginia and the need for formalization of the professional status of member documentation services in the United States. Members are a select group from the marine industry sponsored by an Active Member of AVDA and approved by the Board of Directors." http://www.americanvessel.com For anyone interested in U.S. Coast Guard documentation services, we hope that you will consider our documentation service company, Ocean Yacht Documentation. We, here at Ocean Yacht Documentation are very concerned about our friends and clients in the Caribbean as they brace for Hurricane Maria especially after suffering severe damage due to Hurricane Irma. We will do everything we can to assist vessel owners or charter companies affected by the storms. Our services include ordering replacement documents such as U.S. Coast Guard Certificates of Documentation, state registration cards or other documents that may have been destroyed, lost or stolen.
Please contact us for guidance or consultation to discuss your specific scenario at: (443) 272-1655 For those worried about family and friends in the Lower FL Keys, here is a link to the Monroe County Emergency Management site that may be helpful.
http://www.keysrecovery.org/ We are thinking of everyone in Hurricane Irma's path. Prepare now and stay safe! Please don't try to ride this one out and listen to your local officials for evacuation orders.
We viewed recent videos created by NOAA Hurricane Hunters flying through Irma and it is scary! It's hard to believe the pilots can maneuver through these powerful storms! We wish the pilots safety and thank them for their insights! Learn about NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft here. https://www.omao.noaa.gov/…/aircraf…/about/hurricane-hunters We are thinking of all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. In a small effort to help, we intend to donate to All Hands Volunteers for each transaction we process over the next month (likely to be extended) due to the dire need.
Please consider donating to a reputable organization to help others through their challenging time. www.hands.org/texas-hurricane-response/ Please consider attending the Kent Island, MD benefit concert this Thursday, August 17th for recent tornado victims!
