We attended the Annapolis sailboat show yesterday and had a great time! The day started bright and early at the Sail America breakfast and industry meeting sponsored by Annapolis Boat Shows.
We learned about several fundraising efforts such as Hands Across The Transom (link below) to aid those affected by recent hurricanes. Over 90k has been raised largely due to the generous donors that attended a fundraising party on October 5th. Representatives of The Leukemia Cup, West Marine, and The Moorings also shared their fundraising efforts. At the end of the meeting, several service awards were bestowed.
At the end of the meeting, several service awards were granted to show exhibitors. Following are a list of the winners:
U. S. Coast Guard boat documentation which is the federal registration of a vessel can be a complex and time-consuming task for boat owners. Let us help you with the process. Listed below are some of the benefits of working with a boat documentation service company especially one like ours that is a member of the American Vessel Documentation Association (AVDA). AVDA members abide by a Code of Ethics and is a professional organization comprised primarily of reputable documentation service companies and related industry partners.
Ocean Yacht Documentation is an active member of the American Vessel Documentation Association (AVDA). AVDA is a member organization of U.S. Coast Guard documentation service companies across the U.S. that abide by a Code of Ethics that acts to preserve the integrity of documentation service professionals across the marine industry. We enjoyed the camaraderie of reconnecting with fellow members at the annual meeting yesterday in Baltimore, MD. We met with the Director of the U.S. Coast Guard - National Vessel Documentation Center and received updates on several topics including goals to improve processing times for the issuance of certificates of documentation, recording of preferred ships mortgages and much more. The following AVDA description is directly from the assocation website.
"AVDA was incorporated on February 10, 1995 as a California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation. The establishment of AVDA was in response to the centralization of the U.S. Coast Guard documentation offices to West Virginia and the need for formalization of the professional status of member documentation services in the United States. Members are a select group from the marine industry sponsored by an Active Member of AVDA and approved by the Board of Directors."
For anyone interested in U.S. Coast Guard documentation services, we hope that you will consider our documentation service company, Ocean Yacht Documentation.

We are thinking of everyone in Hurricane Irma's path. Prepare now and stay safe! Please don't try to ride this one out and listen to your local officials for evacuation orders.
We viewed recent videos created by NOAA Hurricane Hunters flying through Irma and it is scary! It's hard to believe the pilots can maneuver through these powerful storms! We wish the pilots safety and thank them for their insights!

We are thinking of all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. In a small effort to help, we intend to donate to All Hands Volunteers for each transaction we process over the next month (likely to be extended) due to the dire need.
